How to offer Eid prayer? It is a very common question now during these days as Ramzan and Eid 2022 are approaching. And keeping in view the lockdown and COVID-19 situations, this year again we are not going to offer Eid ul Fitr prayers neither in mosques nor in Idgah.

Keeping all these in our mind, we can say “praying 2022 eid prayer is not possible” due to corona situations. So, we all have to take care of ourselves and our families. And to make our EID 2022 mubarak (Happy), we have to offer eid 2022 salah at our homes.
We can pray eid 2022 salah/prayer alone or with our family members, note that, there should be one IMAM who can lead the prayer. Worry not, i am gonna show you full detail on How to offer Eid prayer?
Before starting our topic on “how to pray eid prayer” I wanna tell you some important things that will make you pray in the right way so that you will get full blessings of Allah (i.e rahmat).
#1. Can I perform EID prayer at home?
The actual answer is ‘NO’, but it is an incomplete answer i.e if you want to pray eid salah at home then you can. But, that prayer will not be considered as Eid salah, that means, it will become chasht namaz. From this you can see, Eid salah can only be offered in mosques with "jamah". Praying Eid namaz at home is not accepted.
#2. How many rakahs are there in Eid prayer?
There are a total 2 rak’ahs (rakats) in an Eid salah.
#3. Correct time to pray eid salah (namaz)
The correct time to pray eid is 15-30 minutes after the sunrise till before 12:00 PM.
#4. How to do eid niyah?
Read “I have fixed two rakats of salah; eid ul fitr wajib; for the sake of allah; behind this imam; my face is towards Kaaba at west” then say “allah-hu-akbar” and let your hand be at your side.
#5. Is eid salah fard or wajib?
Eid ul fitr salah is wajib i.e it will not be your sin if you couldn’t pray it; definitely, for some reason. Reason being, if you’re disable, emergency to take a flight for some important reason or any other reason.
#6. Is there azaan in Eid?
No, there is not any adhan for Eid prayer. There is a time fixed by local mosques at which Eid ul fitr salah take place.
#7. How many takbeers are there in Eid prayer?
There are total 6 takbeers in Eid salah/prayer/namaz, but some imam also give more or less takbeers; but in general, most of the IMAM gives 6 takbeers, 3 in 1st rakah and 3 in another.

How to offer eid prayer?
Before starting your eid prayer (salah) you need to know that the below steps are set around the Eid salah that is offered in mosques. If there will not be salah in mosques then you have to offer chasht salah at your home which is totally different in term of action from Eid salah (offered in mosques). So, if in your area eid salah is not going to be offered in mosques then you will have to offer chasht salah at your home; and if offering eid salah in mosques is not obliged then follow the instructions mentioned below.
Now, let’s start how to pray Eid prayer step by step……..
Do niyah of eid ul fitr.
Follow all the takbeers of IMAM.
Follow other steps of IMAM. Including hearing the Quran and Sajda & Ruku.
And at last follow Salam of IMAM.
Now, let’s talk about the above steps in detail.
How to offer eid prayer step by step guide for beginners and others.
Step1:- Do niyah of eid ul fitr salah as I have taught above, after reading niyah wait for the IMAM to say “Allah hu akbar” after hearing this take your hands to the ears and then leave them back at your sides.
Step 2:- Now, IMAM will say 3 takbeer i.e. 3 times “Allah hu akbar”; each time you have to take your hands to the ears and then leave them back at your sides. But at the third time, tie your hand with niyah i.e put your both hands on your navel. And now, simply hear the imam reciting quran (surahs of quran)
Step 3:- After the completion of quran recitation, IMAM will say ““Allah hu akbar” and then go to Ruku (hand at knees in bowing situation). Now as IMAM says “Sami allahu limann hamidah'' you have to stand straight and you have to say “Rabbana lakal hamd'' and then IMAM will say “Allah hu akbar”. Now, just go to Sajda. You will do sajda two times and then after IMAM will say "Allah hu akbar" and start the second rakah.
Step 4:- In the second rakah, the IMAM will recite again Surah fatiha followed by any other surah; now IMAM will read three takbeers i.e. "Allah hu akbar" and you will have to take your hands to the ears and let them fall beside you. And after the third takbeer simply go to ruku.
Step 5:- After this rest of the prayer (Salah/Namaz) should be completed as the other common prayers are. That's it, your Eid prayer has been completed/offered.
"After the completion of Eid salah, IMAM will perform an Eid sermon (Khutbah); in Eid salah, Khutbah take place after the completion of prayer, in Eid Khutbah is different from other common Khutbah. Now, let's see some important things which should be remembered to do after Eid prayer."
Important things to do after Eid prayer
There are several things you can and should do, doing those things are important and essential. Doing those things and activities will give you more sawab (blessings) from Allah; and our prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) also did the same things…. Let's see that…
Always come from a different route after praying eid salah. So, don't come back home by the same route which you have chosen to go to the mosque for Eid prayer.
After the completion of Eid prayer, kindly hear the full eid sermon (Khutbah) for more sawab, followed by the eid dua. Dua is also important part of Eid salah, your dua will be completed on the basis of how you have passed the month i.e. Ramadan.
You should go to other people's houses to eat Eid vermicelli and make your relationship good with them. You should also talk to those with whom you have a bad relationship and try to restore it.
After the completion of Eid prayer kindly Hug other people who have also completed Eid salah with you. Note, during Covid-19 situations, hugging can be avoided.
Distribute vermicelli & other needy things among poor and needy people, this will add more sawab in your account. You can also distribute clothes and all.
